Dear reader,
Did you already hear about my 60 days of kindness? Well, I’m throwing around kindness like confetti, and I’m loving it. Since Thanksgiving Day, I celebrate every year of my life with a daily act of kindness which will complete on my 60th birthday. I feel very blessed to celebrate an age that both my elder sisters didn’t reach.
To celebrate each day with an act of kindness gives me a happy feeling but I’m actually also learning a lot from this experience and enjoy sharing about it.
One of my acts of kindness was to help collect funding for the “Fundacion Contra Violencia Relacional” a cause very near to my heart. We collected funds on the roundabout in Noord. It was surprisingly much fun to get people enthusiastic about giving for this good cause. Sometimes doing a little dance, smiling or waving to show our appreciation for their support. So, many gave that afternoon and I realized that it was not about what they gave but how they gave it. Some people would go home to get money, others gave their tip money or just a quarter they could find in their pocket, but also to just give a thumbs up to let the collectors know they support the cause was magical. That afternoon I actually will never forget because my heart was filling with every quarter we received.
