🌿 The Grief Writing Circle
Write • Witness • Connect • Be Understood
Writing through my own losses has been a surprising and deeply personal way of grieving. I discovered that putting words on paper can touch deeper parts of my grief — helping me understand my feelings, my journey and the love I continue to carry for those I have lost. For me, writing has been healing.
The Grief Writing Circle is a gentle invitation to come together and write about our grief — so we can feel less alone, become more connected with our own experience, and allow our grief to be witnessed, first by ourselves and, if we feel comfortable, by others.
This is a small, facilitated space for people living with grief. Over three sessions, the same group will come together to write, reflect, talk, listen and simply spend time alongside others who understand.
Each session, we will explore a different aspect of grief through gentle conversation and guided writing. You don’t need to be a writer, and you never have to share what you write.
You can talk, write, listen — or simply be there.
There is no fixing, no advice-giving, and no expectation that you should be further along than you are.
Every session will offer a different topic and writing prompt. Together, we may discover how grief touches many different aspects of our lives — and how, within our grief, we can also discover parts of ourselves, new understanding and perhaps even unexpected growth.
What might writing through grief offer you?
From my own experience, writing about loss may help you:
- Be kinder and more compassionate toward yourself
- Give some relief to the emotional and mental weight of feelings and thoughts that have never been expressed
- Feel your grief more fully and become curious about your changing relationship with it
- Find a sense of direction, however small, and perhaps a little spark of hope
- Make more space for the mysteries and unknowns that loss leaves behind
- Discover wisdom within your own experiences
- Find ways to honor the stories, relationships and people who matter most
Between sessions, I will also share a gentle writing prompt to accompany you in your personal exploration.
